CTA Enhances Housing 1000 in SCC:

  • Enabled by a web application developed by CTA, Santa Clara County was the first project within the nationwide “100,000 Homes” campaign to use Smartphone technology to capture client profiles (pictures and personal information) that volunteers could easily upload to a database.
  • CTA was one of the first agencies to combine the recently acquired Housing 1000 client information with existing HMIS records to allow for comparison and local planning.
  • Since registry week in June of 2011, over 1600 people have been surveyed. More than 700 surveyed individuals have been found to be vulnerable.
  • Approximately 400 volunteers have contributed over 10,000 hours to Housing 1000 efforts thus far helping to survey the homeless population in Santa Clara County.

Making an Impact – In 2011, in California,

  • Over 87,000 clients received assistance from service-providing agencies using the HMIS solution CTA manages and maintains in Santa Clara County.
  • Technology solutions designed by CTA allowed partner agencies to serve 3.7% more clients without increasing costs
  • CTA proactively linked over 530 service agencies across 11 Bay Area Counties to leverage data and systems to reduce redundancies and costs
  • Over 1300 clients’ data was collected with a customized web/smartphone application created by CTA for the Housing1000 campaign
  • CTA launched the HousingOne site, allowing individual donors to easily support Housing 1000 client move-in costs
  • Over 7200 callers were connected to homeless shelters
