CalWORKs participants can now accumulate required hours during school breaks and other times when their normal activities are interrupted through a new, innovative distance learning website developed to provide access to approved podcasts and other online learning materials.

CalWORKs participants enrolled in Adult Education, ESL, Vocational and College classes can now easily view podcasts of interest and relevance to their career development and growth. Each web-based lesson includes an educator-developed test or review to ensure student comprehension.

The user-friendly website contains some 300 podcasts organized by educational focus. A password-protected section of the website enables educators to share resources and communicate tactics and approaches to successfully working with CalWORKs participants.
