Designed to replace the over thirty-five paper directories which were often outdated as soon as they were published, the web site lists information on over 1,200 service providers, including location, telephone number, entrance requirements, fees charged, staff languages and a brief description of services offered. Nineteen specialized partners including the Council on Aging, Santa Clara County Drug and Alcohol Services and the South County Collaborative provide and update the data.
Data can be searched by icon, keyword or AIRS category and searches can be limited to a specific city or region within Santa Clara County.

Community members searching for information on supportive services for an aging parent or emergency shelter for a victim of domestic violence no longer need to look on multiple web sites or at a paper directory that may be out of date as soon as it's published. HelpSCC has greatly increased the efficiency and effectiveness of social service providers who no longer need to spend scarce resources in order to provide accurate, reliable information and referrals to their clients.
In the year ending June 30, 2008, almost half - 48% - of web site users utilizing the quick search icons were accessing information about Housing, indicating an ongoing need for affordable housing in our community.
